DFS Simulator

See how your lineups are expected to perform before the contest locks

THE SOLVER Simulator runs your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups through tens of thousands of contest simulations against a realistic field, so you can see each lineup’s projected ROI, cash rate, and finish distribution before you enter.

Built in partnership with Establish The Run and trusted by top daily fantasy players including Drew Dinkmeyer and Adam Levitan. No ETR subscription required.

THE SOLVER DFS Simulator results showing SIM ROI, SIM Cash Rate, and finish distribution for an NFL lineup

What the Simulator tells you about each lineup

There are three main numbers to look at for each lineup.

SIM ROI

The prize money the lineup wins across all of the simulations, divided by the entry fees. This is the best single number for deciding whether to enter a lineup.

SIM Cash Rate

How often the lineup finishes in a paying position in the simulations.

Finish Distribution

Where the lineup finishes in the simulated contest, so you can see how often it has a real shot at first place instead of just an average score.

How the Simulator works

1

Project every player

Establish The Run projects the typical performance of every player on the slate, factoring in Vegas totals, weather, play-calling tendencies, opponents, and schemes.

2

Build the field

The Simulator generates realistic opponent lineups that match what actually gets entered into your contest, based on expected ownership and contest structure.

3

Sim the full tournament

Player outcomes are simulated tens of thousands of times with full correlations, so teammates and game stacks rise and fall together, just like in real NFL and Golf scoring.

The Simulator does not build lineups for you. Its purpose is to answer one question: is this lineup good enough to enter?

Where it works

NFLGolfDraftKingsFanDuel

Main slates plus Showdowns. NFL sims are available by Thursday at noon ET, Golf by Tuesday at 8pm ET. The Simulator is built for tournaments, not cash games.

Simulator + Optimizer

The Optimizer is a tool for building lineups. The Simulator is a tool for seeing how they perform. Most users build a pool of lineups in the Optimizer, then sim it here to pick their entries.

Common questions

THE SOLVER DFS simulator takes a lineup (or multiple lineups) and simulates them in a DraftKings/FanDuel contest. You can think of the tool as one that uses what types of lineups will be entered into a contest and the players’ predicted performance to let users evaluate how well a lineup might do in that contest.
